Did you lock the horses in?

It's embarrassing when you have to call jefe and say "the horses didn't come in this mornin so I'll be a little late" Most of the ranch is in desperate need of rain but we've had almost an inch over the past two months so there is a little green coming up.....yes, we celebrate in 1/10ths....so the horses being the smart critters that they are say to each other "if we stay out here this morning maybe they'll leave us a little hay at the corral and we won't have to go to work" And unlike dogs they don't come when you call them! Its frustrating when you can spot them and they just stay on the hill and don't even bother to move. Now, if the sun was going down and you were calling them it would be a whole different story. Moral of the story: Lock 'em up at night.

Don't you just hate that, I mean when you stand there and call them and they look at you and then continue eating like you're not even there. Now that's frustrating. You're right, just have to lock 'em in at night.

Hubby learned to lock them in, especially in the winter when he had to be to work at 6a.m. in sub-zero...catch, load & haul meant up at 4a.m....and that only took him about 2 days to figure out!LOL! Definetly minds of their own!

Ha! Ha! I think that has happened to all of us who own horses! We have one mare in particular that runs everytime my fella goes to catch her! Well I think he must have got tired of chasing her the other day. The next thing I heard was the 4 wheeler start up! Let's just say "he was able to keep up with her!" She didn't run much longer.(he did make her run for awile though) Reminded me of when your mom would say " Do you want something to cry about?" She is in a pen now! DISCLAIMER: No horse was injured, run down or run over in the posting of this blogg!
