Getting Prints Made for Christmas

This is photo I took of a friend's horse when I was on the east coast a few months ago - I know its a bit soft and I wish it were sharper. I still haven't sent her a print! She has been very patient waiting for this photo and it is ready to go to the post office along with the winners from my contest. The most interesting thing is it practically reared on command! Though "Red" doesn't know how to shake hands like Dudley! I wouldn't ride this horse - would you?

That gives "REach for the Sky!" a whole new perspective. Wow. The way that was shot it makes him look like he is 18 hands tall too!! Would I ride him? Ummm... Nope. Dont think so! 15.3 is far enough to climb up for me! ;)

Merry Christmas Cowgirl!

Maybe in the past, but after fracturing my pelvis 9 years ago and then just finding out that I had indeed fractured my pelvis just 3 weeks ago... no... I'll leave him you... the trouble I've had for 9 years is no longer a mystery.

Boy, he did get real tall in a big way! I think I'd prefer not to ride him. It's a loooooong way down from up there!

My daughter's 17'3 hand chestnut Dutch Warmblood does this quite a bit. Of course, she's much younger than I, and a much better rider. She seems to handle it just fine. Would I get on either one of them, not on your life!

That photo is unreal! I have never seen a horse rear like that, except in the movies, lol! At least he didn't have a rider aboard. Was he upset by the dog?

That horse looked huge! Or was the fence just short?
I hate a rearing horse- when I was six a shetland reared, fell and landed on me, my mom didn't believe I was hurt and so I suffered with pain for years. Then when I was 15 a horse I was trying out to buy reared over on me. I threw myself away from her, but she bounced and landed on me anyway. She lay there a long time pinning me face down under her back legs before my girlfriend finally got her off. And when I was twenty I had one more rear and fall with me on. Luckily that time I was able to get myself far away from it.
Would I ride that horse? Maybe, depended on how he was the rest of the time.
Good picture!

Heck no!!! Not unless I knew him very well and knew that he only did that "on command". But, just knowing that he knows he can do that would probably have me steering clear! And, he sure does look huge.

I don't think I would ride him! Holy crap, he is almost going over backwards! After my friend had her horse rear up and fall on her and broke her pelvis in several place, I'm scared of that!

My brother had a green horse rear and fall back with him and he broke his leg in nine places starting an inch or so below the hip joint... almost 3 years before he could walk normal. He's lucky to still have the leg, two Doctors wanted to amputate.
