Rain Finally!

Its not often that we get to move cows through water on this ranch! Well there is one small creek behind the house. Can't you tell Hollywood looks really concerned that we may not be able to get all the cows across this raging river! It was the morning of the babysitters club so keeping track of the number pairs was a bit difficult. You do know what a babysitters cow club isn't don't you? Seriously, momma cows will go off and leave with their calves with one momma cow to watch. The largest baby sitters club I've ever seen in one cow and six calves. I think she was licensed.

I never noticed that about the beefers we had... maybe it didnt work that way in a small herd situation? (Or maybe I was just too busy NOT looking to see?)

Glad you got the rain!!!! Hope you get some more as you need it!

Woo Hoo rain and water! Yeah!!

Baby sitter's club-LOL! Ours do that too as well here, I love watching the herd dynamics and goings on with our cattle. Very interesting!

Looks very refreshing!

I usually keep a longhorn steer around. They make good baby setters. I've seen them with 5 to 10 calves while mama's are off grazing. No coyotes better show up either!

Moving cows!!! Obviously something you love. You should do it full time. Mr. Hollywood looks like he is enjoying his life "too, lb" much.
